Plumbing Design

Plumbing design Engineer mainly includes in designing and Modelling of water pipes, sanitary pipes, storm pipes, gas pipes, calculating the pipe sizes, pump size and selecting the pump by following Building and Plumbing codes and standards.

Plumbing Engineer involves calculating the supply fixture unit (SFU), required for knowing the building water supply demand and drainage fixture unit (DFU), required for knowing the building drainage load.

Identifying the requirement of Booster pump and sizing the pump based on acquired data. Sizing of sewage/sump pump for sanitary/storm system if required. Sizing domestic water pump and recirculation pump.

Selection of pumps based on calculated data. Selection of varies Plumbing fixtures used in the building.

Should have knowledge in designing and modelling of fire protection system in a building, hazard classification, sprinkler layout, clash coordination using Revit and Navisworks software’s.

Knowledge in Selection of Fire pump as per the building requirement, laying out sprinklers, sprinkler piping and following obstruction rules for sprinkler placements as per NFPA Codes and Standards.

Review and checking of design drawings and documents.

Coordinate with all other disciplines and improve inter-discipline working with other disciplines such as Architecture, Civil and Structural.

Create 3D BIM models to a high level of accuracy.

Clearly annotate, dimension and detail production drawings in conformance to standards and practices.

Setup and manage large sheets set including revisions and markups for each project. Plot drawings to pdf, dwg, or to paper plots.

Assist and direct BIM workflow.

Use advanced tools such as Navisworks for project collaboration across multiple disciplines in a BIM environment.
